Choosing the right gym in HCMC

Hi all,

I am going to join a gym by this weekend in Saigon, hopefully around district 1, 3 or 4. I am hoping to get some advice on price and experiences from some of you guys who are already a member somewhere!

So at the moment I'm doing a trial at Star Fitness. It's a great place. Very clean, modern facilities and hardly anyone there during off-peak hours (which is the only time I go anyway). Price for a year of-peak on their website indicated 10,400,000VND. Has anyone had any experience negotiating a lower price with them? I'm certainly not willing to pay that much.

Next is Get Fit Gym and Yoga in District 4, I went there to negotiate a price and the lowest they were willing to go is 7,500,000VND for a year, off-peak. What are others paying for yearly membership right now? They wouldn't give me a trial so I still don't know if it's a nice place to work out.

I'm mostly interested in free weights and cardio machines. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks.
