Thanks Dejavu, do you know if its live and not electronics? Really wouldnt like to play against machine. Surely there must be some expats here organising home games? Am willing to set one up if there are enough interests

You shouldnt take part in home game. It is illegal. There are many policemen watching those places. If you were captured, you would have a lot of problems in VN.
New world has a big casino which forbids Vietnamese.

Xume, New World has $2/4 NL with max buy in around $2000 (might have changed since last time I was there). Its a live game with real players but the dealing and raising etc is done via electronics; there's no dealer. No chips in front of you, all the betting is done via computer. They also take a pretty large rake which has deterred many players from coming back. I'll warn you ahead of time that these players are very good, a lot of semi professional players come here so it's not really a friendly game if that's what you're into. I played with Men the Master last time, and a couple other guys who I recognized as playing semi-professionally.

Contrary to what Dejavu is saying; there are tons of friendly home games between expats who just like to play for fun with low stakes over a couple beers where police aren't hiding in cabinets or the back room. You can post something on Expats in HCMC on fb or as I recall there have been a couple older threads on here about expats looking for a low stake friendly game. I would be interested in playing myself. Hope that helps!

You play against other players on a machine in New world hotel. Its almost like on any casino on a website except you can see live with the other players around you, but everything is controlled by a machine. Search for poker on this website. I think there were people who have posted topics about poker earlier.
