Hello HCMC, I'm Shen

Helloshen

Hi everyone  :)

I'm new to the forum and just arrived at HCMC a couple days ago.

I'm from Malaysia and I've spent the last couple of years studying and working in the UK. As I just got posted here for a new role, I'm looking to make new friends and discover new things!

All I did outside of working hours for the past couple of days is eating! Any good recommendations?

Hi,

I am a fellow malaysian too just came few days ago. While I was walking few nights ago found this restaurant and is good but prices on the high side. Is call NGON on 160 pasteur. You can basicly get most of your local dishes here. You can look at what they cook and order. If you near NTMK where I live then can show you more food option that I have tried.

Hello Danny,

Good to hear from a fellow Malaysian!

Yes I have passed by Ngon, it looks rather fancy from the outside am I right? Have yet to try it.

May I ask what does NTMK stand for?

Dannytan

Likewise Shen. The good thing about NGON to me you can try or choose from many different varieties. As compare with NTMK area food a bowl of noodle will cost 20k to 30k higher. Basicly, you pay for the ambiance. NTMK is short for Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, a main road that run from NE to SW of hcm in District 1.

Hope you will meet so many acquaintances from here!

Welcome!
I would highly suggest not to go to NGON but to its neighbour Secret Garden (158 Pasteur). If you guys wanna go out for dinner I might join you cause I love this spot:)

Dannytan

That is a good idea as I have not tried Secret Garden. If is better then NGON die die must try! If Shen or anybody like to join will be great. Keep me posted or I message you to get lunch or dinner. ciao'

HI Shen & Danny,

I'm also working in Centec Tower, NTMK str.

For the restaurant with local food, nice view, I'd recommend Cuc Gach Quan, 10 Đặng Tất, Tân Định, Quận 1, Hồ Chí Minh, 08 3848 0144. Trust me, all my guests love this place. (I'm used to be Guest Relations Manager in Intercontinental Asisana Saigon).

Hope this helps
