Ho Chi Minh City expats

Than Nguyen

Hello everyone,

I just want to take a moment to say hi to all of the expats here in Ho Chi Minh City, and hopefully get acquainted with some of you for shared experiences, and other know how that I might not be familiar with.  I hope it’s okay, and a little about me.

I’m a Vietnamese American living and working in Ho Chi Minh City.  I’m fluent in both languages, speaking and writing.  I’m interested in an interpretation job, but cannot find them anywhere through job posts or local knowledges.  The only interpretation job I’ve came across was this Vietnamese Cruise Ships Touring company wanted me to translate Vietnamese documents, files, booklets, and advertisements into English for them, and I thought that work would be Crazy so I didn’t do it.

Other than being interested in interpretation work, I’m currently selling Cotten Candy at tourist hotspots to make a living.  I do have other business ambition as well, and I’m saving up for that.  Anyhow, I’m new to Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City all the way from America, and I thought I’d say “Hi”.  If you’re just coming along and read my post, please feel free to drop a comment or two to share your thoughts on what’s good here in Vietnam especially Ho Chi Minh City.  Thank you.  And I will be posting again for interests sake.
