Empty Flights

SteinNebraska

We left HCMC this morning.  Our flight to Tokyo was the only international flight on the board this morning.  There were 15 of us on a 787 Dreamliner.  Then our next leg from Tokyo to Chicago had an estimated 50 people on a 777-300.  Not making any money on either of those flights.

Immigration was a breeze from my wife and daughter.  Nobody waiting in Immigration in Chicago.  We were taken for secondary processing and CBP took their packets, disappeared for 10 minutes and came back and handed them their passports.  Didn't ask either of them a single question.

So we just have one short leg home from Chicago.

I will definitely stay in touch with the group.  It's going to be tough for my wife leaving family.  The first thing she did when we arrived is video chat with them.  Definitely much easier to stay in touch these days.  Her dad cried again.  I'm surprised how hard he took it.

Daughter starts school right away on Monday.  I think she will adjust easier.

Yep, I can see Homeboy cruising down "O" street with a big grin on his face. Glad you got back home safe.

After a few video chat sessions when he sees that she's happy with her new home and new life, he'll feel better.  Not knowing how life is treating their children is what makes parents feel helpless, hence the crying.

Can't wait to hear how your daughter feel on her first day in school.

Thanks OB.  I found out today that I'm eligible to get the vaccine as soon as I register for a slot.  I'll apply tomorrow.  They are now open to anyone age 50 or older in my state.  They calculate that my wife will be eligible by June 1 and anyone that wants one at any age can get it by end of June so it's finally coming to a close in the US in the next few months.
