Latest news on visas
All coming through now from my long time trusted visa agent she has just sent me all the details for the 90 days single & multiple including fast service 1 day guarantee. But I personally will still just go with the 45 days visa free this time & let things settle down a bit

Here's the new evisa link:
https://dichvucong.bocongan.gov.vn/bocongan/bothutuc
Apparently no dedicated link to the English language version so anyone viewing the site must scroll down to the bottom of the page and toggle from "Tiếng Việt" to "English"
Hopefully all nationalities will be offered the same prices.
There were instances in the past where different nationalities were charged different fees.
One of my group's members on Face.bo.ok reported that the price was not revealed to her until she had submitted her application, leading me to wonder if the price will be determined by what you submit.
I'd be happy to hear something specific about that.
Funny. I notice#10 does not include Vietnam, here. (Link to application. Change to English at top right)
just an added note, FYI:
My long time visa agent in Hanoi says that they are also having headaches with the new website so they are not currently accepting applications for the 90-day Visa through them.
it must be serious because she would always be right on top of something like this

Agreed. Even the example application you linked to, here, is not the same as the actual application, here.

My goodness. Since taking a peek a couple of hours ago, I have seen already at least 3 changes on the gov application website.

LOL!
@OceanBeach92107 And you still get the same answers
https://dichvucong.bocongan.gov.vn/boco … matt=26277
You are required to get an OTP and insert it into the verification tab. the OTP is only valid for 10 minutes.
Except that you don't get a OTP so endith the application.
With the new 90 day e-visa, am I allowed to have a single stay in Vietnam for a maximum of 30 or 90 days within the specified period of 90 days?

from a goodolboy who has lived here for 15 years & knows the score.........come on people, its Vietnam, give them a break did you really think it would be plain sailing & thats why I opted for the 45 days visa free first time. Even if the 45 days its screwed up at least I will get the old 15 days.
-@goodolboy
"#3 Please fill the attached form"
Is that form the same as the gov evisa application?
-@Aidan in HCMC
dont know mate, they do all that stuff for me & have done for years. They have all that stuff for me on record & thats why I am happy to pay for the service they provide, kick back, open another beer & chill!!

-@catravel
since immigration failed to clarify whether that rule is still in effect (receiving only a 30-day permission to stay at a time) then only they can answer that question.
however if the new regulations have not superseded the old regulations then the requirement will be to report to immigration every 30 days if you want to stay longer.
that's the rule that went into effect on July 1st 2020.
it may be that the only way you're going to know is when you arrive and you look at the stamp you receive in your passport.
however I believe that the rumor that you would have to leave the country every 30 days is totally without foundation and baseless.
you can plan on being in Vietnam for 90 days on a 90 day Visa, even if there is an additional requirement to report to immigration.
and on the follow-up question that I'm sure is coming from someone: no, extensions are not allowed.
you definitely will have to exit the country at the end of your 90 days and then reenter on a new 90 days if you would like to hang around longer.
...and adding to the problems:
I just saw this notice on a very big visa agent's site:
No eVISA applications will be processed during August 19 - 21, 2023
Please be informed that the Vietnam Immigration Department will be off for the Traditional Day of Vietnam People’s Public Security Force during August 19 – 21, 2023.
Therefore, no visa applications will be processed during those days.
In case you have a trip to Vietnam around those days and have no visa yet, please reschedule your trip or...
First report of a $25 90-day single entry visa being successfully obtained a few minutes ago by a longtime expat here in Hội An.
Hopefully everyone else will have success now.
@OceanBeach92107 Do we know anything about extending current tourist visas to a 90 day tourist visa yet? For countries like Ireland. And if this involves exiting and reentering Vietnam?
My god why do I never see previous comments, sorry @OceanBeach92107 I see all the info you have added now.
Does anyone have a reputable company I could obtain my 90 day tourist visa from? I assume I will need to leave the country at the end of my current 30 day tourist visa (ends aug 26th) to allow for the new 90 day one to take place. Is this correct or could I possibly report to immigration in HCM and 'extend' to 90 days?
This thread is so helpful, thanks so much!

Hi Aisling Murphy. Hopefully one of our members will contact you regarding a reputable agent.
And yes, your assumption is correct about your having to leave/reenter Aug 26th.

Unfortunately, you'll need to totally drop the words extend and extension from your thoughts about your Visa 😢
While there have been reports in this forum that there is some mechanism for applying for an extension, in reality no one is receiving extensions on tourist visas.
It's specifically stated also in the new rules that extensions will not be allowed on the 90-day visas.
For the next few days it may be difficult to find an agent who is reputable and also willing to get your 90 day visa for you because the agents are having so many problems with the website and are receiving a deluge of requests.
in general we don't recommend specific Visa agents in the forum.
You are welcome to send me or another member a private message asking for recommendations.
I know user GoodOlBoy has been using the same reliable trustworthy agent for a long long time.
It's really great that you were thinking ahead on this and I'm sure that you're not going to have any problem except for the fact that you will definitely need to leave and reenter the country.
Good luck!

.........doing the visa run Moc Bai this Saturday with my agent so will be interesting at the border I suspect.
I know user GoodOlBoy has been using the same reliable trustworthy agent for a long long time.......my agent messaged me excitedly yesterday to say that eventually she had managed to get one customer a 90 days multi entry tourist visa using her "super fast service" enter 28th Aug & exit 21st Nov
I filed yesterday and paid, this morning I received an email that my photo that I have been using for years wasn’t up to their standards that you can’t have glasses on. Does anyone know how to update the new visa application? The email I received had no links or instructions how to replace my profile picture, any suggestions?

the first suggestion is to always submit a new photo.
using a photo that you've been using for years is a recipe for getting your photo rejected.
they want to see your passport page of course but they don't want to see that photo.
they want to see something that they are fairly certainly is a current photo of you.
I've now helped three different people who faced virtually the same problem with the 30-day visas.
as soon as I took new photos for them and had them cropped properly to passport size they were able to submit them with everything else and get approval.
@OceanBeach92107
thanks good info to have. Now my major problem is how to edit my application I have the codes they provided to retrieve your data unfortunately there’s no links or access I could find on the new website
I'm having an issue with the application I'm assisting a Canadian expat (my Luddite friend) with. The "interweb" confuses him, and Google is definitely not his friend.

Specifically, "#10. Date, Place of Request". Vietnam is not listed as a "Place of Request", and so I'm hesitant to lie and state Cambodia/Laos/Thailand/Canada/Wherever, and lose his $50 USD (or worse, get him blacklisted!). Have any members, long-time expats in VN, had trouble with this? What country did you state?
Also, "#6. Information About The Trip", ss "Have you Been To Vietnam in the Last 01 year?"
I'm assuming that long-time VN expats on DL visas have had to show 12 entries under that heading, each with the correct entry/exit dates for all 12 prior visas, using the "+" at the end of each entry to add another.
And, "#8. Trips Expenses, Insurance".
I'm inputting $6,000 as his expenses for the 3 month stay. He does not have insurance (age related), but is well able to cover his own medical emergency expenses. Anyone encounter difficulty if/when declaring no insurance?

I don't know this for sure but my best guess is that this is very similar to some of the questions that are asked on marriage applications and also on TRC applications.
They basically want to know your passport nation, since you are applying for a tourist visa, even if you have rented an apartment and actually living in Vietnam.
if somebody says "yeah but I have an Italian passport and I'm living in mexico. shouldn't I write Mexico?"
I wouldn't.
I would simply try answering consistent with my passport.
I could very well be wrong.

I have found and used Viet Nam, listed on the place of request.

there is no limit written into the law.
however if there is suspicious or illegal activity on your part or you misbehave while you are here or you offend somebody close to somebody in power, you can easily be refused a future application.
if you are looking for a guarantee that you can live here forever there's no such thing.
these are tourist visas and immigration here is notorious for changing regulations without advance notice.
you will probably be able to live here for one or two or three or more years without problem.
but that's definitely not a 100% guaranteed certainty.
Ah well another milestone recorded. Great visa run as usual using my long standing & trusted agent, pretty much plain sailing at the border but lots of people queuing up coming back in to Vietnam The they were in for a long wait I think. As for us we sailed through as usual & were back in HCMC for 1pm & back into Vietnam this time on the 45 days visa free.
Sign of the times & times ahead though as our VIP visa agents bus was full this trip!
Be Aware:
Vietnam National Day holiday weekend runs from Friday, September 1st THROUGH Monday, September 4th.
Immigration will not process evisa applications during that time.
Based on previous performance by immigration, it's reasonable to assume that if you apply for your visa online sometime on Thursday, August 31st, it may very well take you until Thursday, September 7th or Friday, September 8th to receive your visa.
This thread does not seem to up to date. Does anyone know the final outcome of the new visa policy that was to go into affect on Aug 15. Is it going to be a single entry 90 day or a multiple entry 90 day. The original language seemed like it was to be multiple entry which only really helps immigration in that they have to do less work. And the old multiple entires got a lot of folks into trouble as they did not understand them.

it's a good tip in this forum to get the latest information by going to the end of the thread and not the beginning of the thread when you start reading.
we have a number of threads that have outdated information at the very beginning of the thread but have been updated by people posting in the conversation since then.
welcome to The forum and please let us know if you have any difficulties navigating the information here
SWEET MOTHER ALMIGHTY!
Okay, so first we had the original application portal of
NATIONAL WEB PORTAL ON IMMIGRATION (Link),
and then we were presented with the new and improved portal of
PUBLIC SERVICE PORTAL MINISTRY OF PUBLIC SECURITY (Link).
Well, it appears applications are still being accepted at
MINISTRY of FOREIGN AFFAIRS of VIETNAM - VIETNAM VISA APPLICATION (Link)
After clicking "Fill Form", a window declaring "You have 15 minutes to fill the form. Field with (*) is required."
All three of the above portals are functioning, accepting applications and payments. Is this third portal an obsolete oversight? Will there be an eVisa presented to the applicant at the relevant VN embassy or consulate office? Any members with experience dealing with that last site's application procedure?
Could it get any simpler? /s

My question:
