Hi,
I resigned my job and going back to my home country.Anyone please let me know what are the things need to be done to depart without any issues. My travel date would be 1 day before my EP expiry date.

Whether the employer will do it or employee should do? How many days before can we get tax clearance?

The company will provide you with a Leavers Form and you take this to the tax office (take your passport with you). It takes about 10 days to get the clearance completed.

Thanks for your reply. Another question, should I have to close my income tax file no before leaving as I may not come back to Malaysia again for the employment..If yes then what is the procedure?

Ideally you need do all clearance ie income tax before leaving Malaysia. Unless you dont plan to come back to Malaysia even as tourist.

Any outstanding especially owing to income tax will subject to immigration decision to refuse your next entry to Malaysia.
