Hello, I am new, is anyone around?

The last thread from 2014?
So this form is not active anymore?
I am visiting Laos, my aim is to buy (lease) a small piece of land.
I am looking for English-speaking lawyer to help with the formalities.
Thanks

Bill

A google search will assist you in finding what you want. There are English speaking lawyers here in Vientiane.
Hmm, I have been to McDonald Steed McGrath a couple of years ago and recently I visited Lao Premier. The problem is that they are specialized in corporate law and therefore quite expensive. Several thousand dollars. And I want to lease a small and inexpensive piece of land. I called another lawyer, more of a private office. He spoke good English but did not have detailed information (like what is the maximum term for a lease) and was not willing to have a dang pathet visit his office.
So what I need is someone with experience about what a foreigner needs to do in a lease situation...

Perhaps try a real estate agent.
They would have a copy of lease agreement paperwork etc.
Contact Saiwards real estate. I am sure he can help you.
