i hope dont get so impressive about indian culture shock, eheheh, even i worked abroad for so many years around the globe, especially in south east asia.

Do not hesitate to log back to share your expat experience when you will land to Delhi next week
I guess it will be a challenging experience to be in a new land for the first time
Regards

South Delhi, especially Hauz Khas is a wonderful place to live. You will really like it there. A very beautiful and quiet area.
I stayed in Delhi for over 5 years and South Delhi is definitely the best place to live in Delhi. It's been over a year now since I moved to Bombay and sometimes I miss Delhi for it's wide open roads and such a variety of food! Now they also have a very well connected metro line so commuting within the city is not a problem either!
I might be there for the shoot of my film next month and cannot wait to experience the city all over again!

Ciao!
Vikas

I just hope to have great time in Delhi, my new company provide me already with suitable indipendent house, car with privat driver, and others amenities, so this is a good start to begin this new challenge there.
Of course if by side i will be focus on my job to achieve the goal of what my company is looking for, i would like too, meet new good peoples to share our experience's.
i wanna ask, how they are seen foreigners from indian women ? its depend by status ? background ? i ask this cause i know in India, peoples judge by social status, is right ?
I hope to meet also some serious woman, ehehehheh.
Thanks again and God Bless you.
Giotto

Find some women who love music and try serenading them with Italian songs and poems and you should be fine.. But make sure you sing in tune otherwise it may backfire! hehehe
And ya, my name is Vikas. Soyvikas is 'I am Vikas' in Spanish- a language that I absolutely love apart from Italian!
Cheers!
come va? dove stai allora? io tutto bene!

I am expat too! working with Chefs actually
and South Delhi is a great place to live for sure! You will enjoy very nice restaurants (Multi food)! and if you miss your Italian food (I do understand_even if I am not sure- that you are italian?!) you will also find good places to hang out! good bars/clubs...places to visit...lot of things to do actually!
if you need some advices: let me know! i ve been there since 2 months already! and i know the location!
ps: if you are a bit Tamarro with women...should be ok! (joking of course

Thanks Keanu, and best of things you too :-)
soyvikas wrote:The kind of women you will meet will depend on your attitude. Women in Delhi are like anywhere else in the world- some are shallow(judging people by their statuses), while others are intelligent and sensible and couldn't care less what you do for a living as long you are an intelligent and a genuine guy. The kind of women you will attract will depend on your expectations so it's good that you are interested in serious women and not the frivolous ones!

So I'm coming to Delhi tomorrow for a short film shoot and will be there until I complete it. It's been almost a year and a half since I've been away from Delhi and almost everyone tells me that the city has changed a lot. Whether it's for better or for worse, I'll get to know tomorrow morning.

If any of you guys want to meet up and hang out, let me know. I'll be staying at a friend's place bang opposite Select Citywalk in Saket. I'm waiting to experience Delhi all over again with fresh eyes and you guys could give me some much needed objectivity! :-)
Adios, au revoir et ciao! :-)

Well, I'd surely write a role for an Italian some day and then I'll contact you! haha But this film is about a 12-14 year old kid and what happens to him on a Sunday morning when he's sent on a simple errand by his mother. This simple task becomes quite an adventure for him!
Everyone I narrated the story to liked it, so I'm hoping the film turns out well!Right now, I'm trying to find out good locations for the film and also the main character. It'll be a challenge to find the perfect kid and we are planning to go to some NGOs for the same. Let's see!
Yeah, we can definitely plan something on a Sunday. As I said, I'm staying near the Select citywalk in Saket which could be a nice place to meet. Let me know.
Hope to meet some interesting people during my stay here!

Ciao!
Right, Giotto?

citywalk is very nice to hang out and you get also nice places for dinner and all
enjoy!!
You are right, citywalk is really a nice place. I haven't had a lot of time to roam around but plan to do that in the coming days.
Care to join?

soyvikas wrote:I arrived here yesterday and I'm looking at everything with wide open eyes! lol Some things have surely changed since I left and the way cities work is also different, so I'm trying to remember how one needs to behave in Delhi so as to blend in with everyone! hahaha
