Need information about bringing my dogs to Luanda

Hi there,

Can anybody give me some advice about bringing my dogs into Luanda. Have you or anybody you know brought dogs into the country. It seems there is very little info out there. Your help is desparately needed!

Odd is this posting 2011 or 2012?
Anyway, we are bringing our dog from Canada. We were told to have a government "health certificate" filled in by a vet, then to get notarized translated (into Portuguese) copies signed by the government issuing office, then stamped by Foreign Affairs and signed off by the Angolan Consulate.

Well, ours just got in yesterday & they didn't even ask for his papers! We had government forms filled out, translated into Portuguese and notarized, stamped by CDN and Angolan officials. Plus we did an IATA form.

But we did need to rescue him from being put on the belt with the other luggage.

My cat will be arriving on the 17th of August, after a lenghty stay in the kennel back in SA as a Rabies vacination certificate was required and had to be dated between 30 and 60 days prior to the arrival date. Please double check that the vacinations were done in this time frame of 30 days. If more than 60 days, the animal might have to have it again and stay in a kennel as per our experience.
