The British Virgin Islands are in fact an archipelago of 60 islands, among which 16 are inhabited. Tortola, the main island, is only 24 miles square. The group of British islands is also know as the BVI. Geographically the BVI are located some 60 miles west of Porto Rico and are in the same archipelago as the U.S. Virgin Islands. The BVI are also known as a tax heaven, which explains the number of foreign firms and companies.

There are lots of arenas for ex-pats to work in the BVI, but the BVI Government  seeks, wherever possible, to ensure that top jobs are filled by BV Islanders.  That notwithstanding, there are a couple of key areas in which ex-pats can normally find employment.  These are the fields of law, accounting, corporate administration & yachting.  In all instances you are going to have to provide extensive proof of your qualifications and experience.

The British Virgin Islands are a small archipelago of islands at the north-easternmost sector of the Caribbean.  The captial is Road Town, on the island of Tortola.  English is the official language, but the currency is the US Dollar.

The British Virgin Islands is a group of 16 inhabited islands and over 50 uninhabited islands and cays. Situated in the Caribbean, the islands are a British Overseas Territory and are officially called the Virgin Islands.
