I am a UK Expat currently living in Houston, Texas and will soon be moving to Shanghai with, my husband.
Can anyone recommend any good web sites or blogs that I can check out to get a feel for living in Shanghai?
Which areas are best for an expat to live?

I suggest you to have a look at the "life in China" guide, view other threads on the Shanghai forum and read blogs written by expatriates living in Shanghai. You will find lots of information.

Which areas are best for an expat to live?
My answer is if you live in Pudong district, better livin "Biyun life hub" or " jingqiao life hub"
If you want to live in PuXi, Hongqiao region is Ok.
