Newly Posted to Manila

What do you mean by "direct me to a club to feel at home"? I don't know if it is only me, but I sense something inappropriate in this statement.

I may have not made myself clear on my request... to find people to introduced me to appropriate "club" that I may get to know people and help me settle in Manila.

It's going to be for sometime , that I have to be stationed in Manila and to know expat who have already "settled" in Manila who may give some pointers to look out for...


As for your claim to an "inappropriate" statement , please give me a break as I have no intentions or am I entertaining on "wrongful" thoughts that you may have on me...

I have many wonderful people  who have responded on my request and their guidance has helped so much and gave me encouragement not to be afraid as the Filipino people are helpful and sincere people..

So whoever you are, I suggest that you do not be judgemental and be offensive ... if you know me , you will find me a man who is not lustful in thoughts or am interested in any agenda that is harmful to another ...

I will be landing tomorrow in the late evening in Manila . I will be than zipped to Fields Residence - Sukat , wherever it is .

I will be given my local no on the same day that I will be sending it to you..,

I'm heading a Project in Novalichies -Manila and I'm heading one part of the work through what I'm specialised in, hopefully a year or Two before I pack up and head back to Singapore.

This is my first long stint to be in a country working. 

Once again, thank you for writing back to me. My  Apologies for being an A#% ... in anyway myself ...

Sucat is in Parañaque which is already considered a bit south of the Metro.

Just a heads up, the traffic here is terrible especially during peak hours, but you'll get by. For commuters like me, the emergence of Grab and Uber is really helpful especially if I'm unfamiliar with the place that I will be going to ( also thanks to Waze).  Too bad it is only available in Metro Manila, Cebu (a city in Visayas) and Davao (a city in Mindanao).

Rossy is right. Makati and Bonifacio Global City are considered the best places to hang out and chill.

I hope you enjoy your time here in the Philippines even though you are here for work purposes.

Thank you and it's now 2 weeks in Manila... Got my Shipment ( my personal items) from S'pore only yesterday and am so happy ....

Agree ... spent most times on the Road than the office ... at one point I had to get off a Taxi half way to the office and had to stop a motorbike rider and pleaded with him to send me to Novalichies with enticements for some good cold cash .... it was fun and scary at the same time being in a motorbike for the first time in my life ....

I had a similar experience. HAHA! I understand for a fact the feeling of riding a motorcycle in Metro Manila. It's very scary. I was afraid to ride it at first but I had to because I was in a rush. But the "Angkas" driver assured me that he will be careful in driving. (Angkas is a motorcycle booking app. You should try it sometimes.)  Luckily I made it out alive. Hahah!
