Working as a women achitect in oman

Heloo,
i am interested in working as an architect in Oman, but before i start to look for a job, i need some trustful advises from somebody that works in constructions field there. Being architect, a big part of this work is on site and Oman being a muslim country, i don't know if they are open for womens on this part of job.
Thanks!

Hi Anca,

I am an Architect and have been working here in Muscat since 2010.
We have lots of Women Architects here. But as you said because of culture and religious, most of them are working in office.
But, you know things are going to change and I see more ladies in Municipality and site super vision these days. Of course, they are not the site engineer to be always there.
I hope I could give you some pictures of working here.

hi Kamran,

Thank you for answering me.I work in Romania right now, as a private so i have to do the site visits on my own, but even here is not easy to deal with the constructors as a women all the time.I like to check my work , thats why i want to think to all the aspects before i decide to move there.
Yes i would like to see some photos from your work. If you want i can send you too.

If your actually looking to work on an onsite project in Oman, please be warned that the temperatures here are quite extreme and it does take a toll physically and mentally..... Having worked in the construction field as a fire specialist, I dont find women on onsite roles.... like the other person had said, I do find women in more office based roles. Personally, I dont see the culture stopping a woman from working on an onsite roles as long as you are appropriately dressed in public and follow the HSE codes.

thank you for your advise. You are right, the high temperatures can be a challenge.I am not looking for a job only on site, but as an architect to make a good work you have to check the work all the time. I know that i will be a part of a team so maby i will don't have to make visit on sites alone, but i considered i have to think at this aspect too before i take a decision.
