Possible relocation to Jubail

I am possibly relocating to Jubail for work from the UK. I will be bringing my family along with me.
Wife, 2 young children and possibly family pet dog if allowed.

How is Jubail for expats? I have a few concerns.  Is there good English speaking schools for my children?

Does my wife have to abide by the saudi culture by covering her face, not being allowed to drive or go out alone?

What activities are there for family and children?

Can anyone suggest any suitable areas to live.

Any other info would be greatfully appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

Jubail is Ok fo rexpats, at least better than some other place s in KSA. it will be of course different for different people depending on what you are looking for and what interests you.

I do know families that have pet dogs here, but am not very sure onth eprocess of bringign one with you.

Regardign schools, there is a ISG school that caters ot the American/British system of education. You can look them up on http://isg-jubail.org/

You would all have ot abide by the local rules adn regulations. Women are not allowed to drive here. Your wife would have to cover up with an abaya, but not a face cover. She could go out alone using taxi's, but how comforable she is doing that would be a different matter.

Public social activities are almost non-existent. All socialising tends to happen within the confines of the home or residential compounds.

Areas to live would depend on where you work. First choice would be a compound (for security and social reasons). Your emplouyer may alos offer viall housing, but if so, then only inthe Royal commission area would be somewhat safe.

Hope this gives you some inputs.
