Can anybody share your personal moving experiences? Aside from clothing, I'm not really sure what I'll need to bring with me for my 18 month assignment in Doha. For example, is it best to buy most household essentials while out there? Are there some things you wish you had brought or wish you had not? Thanks...
To bring or not to bring....

Most things are available here (household appliances, kitchenware etc) at reasonable prices so it would only be specialty things that are not "international" that you might like to bring.
Other than that I would suggest:
a good VPN for your computer,
DVD library ,
maybe a few books
original documents and notarised copies
Some things that make it feel like "home" are also nice to have - photos, pictures for the wall, favourite coffee mug etc...
