Life-living-in-malta

Hello,

My name is Jay

The plan is to make the permanent move to Malta, Next January, Hopefully renting a place start of December, Install phone-internet- can I get sky? for football...

I currently Live in the uk.

What is the life like out there.

What is the tax's like, I Hear a lot of different things. And will be getting an accountant to know for sure, but curious if any help be greatly appreciated.

( I earn a 6 figure sum ( before out goings ) but varys as it's a shop basic online lol ) and i got partners in uk and outgoings programmers etc outside of Malta )

I got a online business... I got a game on facebook.
And people pay for items on the game from all over the world.
I can break down where the money comes from, which country's etc.
So would I only have to pay tax on purchases which people bought from Malta... Facebook take all payments and send me a payment out from facebook which Is outside of Malta... Why I not got a clue what I would have to pay ... I can only assume will be lot less than in the UK. lol

This is not the main reason for me wanting to move, I think life will be nicer, warmer climate laid back lifestyle etc.

I work from home, So will need internet, I hear it's good in Malta.

How easy is it for moving banks and business from UK to Malta anyone done this? I currently bank with Barclays.

Doctors, would you have local doctor, dentist etc? Or you just have to go private if anything wrong?

Hospitals are they good in Malta?

Just general questions, And I am more than happy in coming with just a bag of clothes and few sentimental things and buying stuff new.

So it's just a matter of closing everything down in uk and setting up in malta... And it's just knowing where to start with it all. haha. Sorry for the big book ..... any help is greatly appreciated.... and few beers when make the move! LOL :)

Theoretically you can save many taxes in comparison with your current situation. But there is no general rule for every case. A british company, a maltese company, a holding, a tax resident, a High Net Worth Individual, british source incomes, german source incomes, salaries, dividens, etc. are not all taxed in the same way and there is a better tax solution for each case. Since you are a self-employed doing e-business you should seek international tax expert advise to find out what is the best tax solution for your specific case. Investing in a tax efficient solution could save you a lot of money in the long-term.

Hi Rick

I'm sure someone here will consider your queeries and respond to you if they Canberra it, belief fosters help, in my opinion....and if they Cairns see your point that is.  Roo the day that I get involved with giving advice......not my bag I'm afraid, I'm not a specialist as I'm not yet an ex-pat.

Good luck, however, with your planned move.......I'm definitely open to a few beers when I'm around in Malta - it's the best way of getting to know the place.

Kindest Regards

Mike
