I lived in a house in Dammam for over 6 years, always paying rent on time. The landlord never caused any issues during the pandemic, even reduced the rent for a few months. They never bothered me or contacted me except for the fact that the water supply prices doubled.
The only complaint I heard from others was that the landlord didn't return the house insurance, which was confirmed when I left.
The new government system (Aqar app - I'm not promoting anything here) looks promising, and I hope it will solve such problems.
