Multilinguist ( Reception, customer service )
My name is Irene Bortoli Sutton and I would like to enquire if there are any job vacancies as an Administration Assistant/Receptionist in the travel and tourism/linguistic sector.I am currently living in Montreal as I have obtained a working visa via the IEC programme and so will be eligible to work in Canada for the next 2 years. I am also willing to relocate. My preference is Toronto.
I would consider myself the right person for this job because of my previous professional experience, my personal interests in teaching, event organising and working in a multicultural environment. I very much wish to continue improving my experience of working in the multi-lingual (French/English) setting as I have done since 2013. I also speak Italian fluently (my mother is Italian) and have intermidiate Spanish..
I am a recent graduate of Dublin City University with a BA in Applied Languages (French/Spanish) and Intercultural Studies (2013). I am currently working in the Emerald Cultural institute as an Activity Leader/Tour guide and have done so for the last two summer seasons. I wish to find work in a similar organisation as I very much enjoy working closely with both teenagers and adult students. I would also like to learn more about the administration side of the work especially to help in organising events for the students. I have always had a great interest in event management and have completed a course on it (2014).
Prior to my job at Emerald, I have worked in the tourism and hospitality sector as a customer service agent, receptionist and administration assistant. I spent ten months working at Dorms.com (an online booking agency for hostels) as an account executive/customer service agent (French & English speaking ). Prior to this I worked as a receptionist at the Vintage Hostel Gare Du Nord in Paris and at Hostelworld.com as a Bilingual Account Executive.
Since a very young age I have had a passion for languages and traveling due to my multilingual background, I enjoy learning about other cultures and norms as well as meeting new people with similar interests. I have recently travelled in North America and spent some months in Toronto, Canada. Notably I lived in Paris and Perpignan in France, Greece and lastly 2 summers in Barcelona.
All jobs I have had leading up to now, especially the ones I have previously mentioned, required me to have constant contact both in person and by telephone/email with clients and customers. Because of these experiences I believe I have an excellent professional manner, personal presentation and am customer focused.
Notably, I would consider myself as being open-minded, friendly, with a bubbly personality and a great team player.
