Hope to relocate from South Africa to Papua New Guinea

Hi everyone - my partner and I hope to relocate from South Africa to Papua New Guinea within a month or so for a project which should last around a year or so.  At this stage, I cannot divulge any detail about the project other than it being charitable and a community development endeavor.  We will be living approximately 25km from Mt Hagen.  Is there anyone who could perhaps advise me on the following?

1.  Will it be a problem to bring a year's supply of chronic medication into PNG?
2.  Are credit cards widely accepted as payment - at least for groceries and general supplies?
3.  Is there anything difficult to obtain which should be brought from home?

Any other tips would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers, Deon & Sue

I guess you would be in PNG by now. If not then having worked there before my advice:
1. A doctors prescription would help to get a years supply of medicine,
2. Many but not all would accept credit cards, even in Hagen. the big ones will
3. Power outage is common, get mobile phone charge bank and rechargeable lights
I was in PNG 5 yrs back and going back again from australia to Mt hagen

..

Thanks so much - unfortunately the project has been put on the back burner for now, so no PNG for me!  Cheers!
