Ecuador PR on T3 visa

Hi guys, iam married to an Ecuadorian citizen and the marriage is registered in Ecuador already. Iam planning to move there and apply for a PR, i have to leave for my work and don't have time to apply for a visa here in india, I wanted to know if I can land in Ecuador on my t3 visa and do the process of applying for PR on that visa? Or do I need a different kind?

Dear Exorcist,

Welcome to the Ecuador forums of expat.com ....

Relying on layman Expats to answer these questions would be overly optimistic.

Since the immigration law changed two years ago, examples of how it affects new arrivals has been coming in dribs and drabs.

Unless arriving in Cuenca, the OP should seek advice in Ecuador from an immigration attorney or a visa facilitator about his specific situation.  Cuenca is an exception because the relevant government offices serving that city are known to employ sufficient English-speaking staff.
