Returning to Scotland

My wife  and I are retired we are thinking of returning to Scotland to stay  If and when we decide to go whats required paperwork wise or can I just go back and set up house etc  Jim

Assuming you're both Scottish, why would there be a problem?
As long as your UK passports are valid, just book a flight.

ahh after reading other info you just cant return to Scotland even if you are a citizen  especially if your looking for benefits my british passport is expired and my although being a british subject does not have a british passport but from what I gather from other info that wouldn't matter you still have to go through residency tests

Assuming you're Scottish as your profile says, just apply for a new passports.
I assume you also have another citizenship as you say your passports have expired, but you're living in another country but that should make no difference as the UK allows dual citizenship.
No tests are required for British citizens but benefits are another thing.
As the social security budget is a massive drain on the government's purse, returnees could well have problems getting the dole.

ok thanks
