Hey guys,

I'm new on here. I've done the research and I'm pretty sure Czech Republic is where I'm gonna touch down in a year. I was born and raised here in Houston, Texas, but I've always had a desire to live elsewhere. I've traveled around the world on humanitarian trips and I LOVE it. I have a great job here at a homeless shelter working with youth and part-time at another non-profit place.

I've been researching ESL and TEFL courses and it's the only way I think I could move there and live. I have a bachelor's degree and I'm 26. Any directions as to how I can make this happen, would be awesome. My plan is take a ESL course in Prague and try to get a teaching position there. Any help?

Looking for direction...
Looking for friendships :-D

Thanks guys for reading!

Hi there Chad,

My name is Kaitlyn and I am new to this website as well. I am moving from California to Prague this summer. I am doing the training right now on TESOLcourse.com and love it. I opted to do the online training so that I would already be certified when I arrived in Prague. I have talked to many people who have done different TESOL/TEFL training and they are all pretty much the exact same thing, done by different companies. All of the certification that you receive is all the same no matter which school you do it through. If you have any questions just let me know as I have been doing quite a bit of research on this for the past 8 months, preparing for my move.

Cheers, Kait

Hi Chad and Kaitlyn,

I am a New Zealander living in the UK at the moment, but planning on moving to the CR next year to teach english. I haven't done my training yet, but am planning to come to Prague to do so. I would be really interested to hear about your experiences, and what you are planning! I know a few people who are teaching english around the world, and they have all said that it's worthwhile to do CELTA training (from Cambridge Uni in the UK), as its apparently much easier to get a job if you do!

I have been looking at this school to do my training.... http://www.akcent.cz/cz/p/175/celta.html

Theres a lot to think about and plan, so it would be great to talk to some people planning the same thing!

Daisy :)
