Dear All,

Actually, nobody can provide the real cost of living in Kosovo. It is completely depend on person. I will try my best to give answer of your question.

For sure, cost of living in kosovo has increased.

> How much does it cost to rent an apartment/house in Kosovo?

it's depend on location and size. One normal 1 BHK apartment in city center would be around 350-450 Euro and in Dragodan, you can easily find in Euro 250-300 BUT if you search to Fushke kosovo side, then even you will get 2 BHK in 250 Euro.

> How much do you pay for your public transport tickets (bus, subway, train, tram)?

Public transportation is very cheap in kosovo. Normally bus fair are depend on routes like if you want to travel from Fushke Kosovo to Prishtina, you have to pay only 40 Cent.  Taxi fair are also not to much. If you are single , then i would suggest you to use Scooter Taxi which is cheap and economy ( Euro 1.50 all over prishtina). As per my knowledge ,train service is only for Peja and Skopje and train cost is 5 euro.

> Staple food: what do people eat and how much do they pay for basic food like bread, rice or pasta?

Food is quite cheap compare to other European countries. Normal Bread cost is around 30 Cent and you will get from any bakery shop. For vegetarian ,it is quite hard to find options here.

>What is your monthly grocery budget?

It's depend on person. For single person,it would be not more then 600 Euro if you are cooking at home.

> How much does it cost to see a physician/doctor/specialist in Kosovo ?

Normal doctor cost is Euro 20 but it's depend on doctor.

> What is your children's schooling monthly budget?

It's also depend on school which you are planning to send your children ( you can see the list of schools and links from my other post in Expat.com)

> How much does it cost to fill up your car's fuel tank?

It's depend on car. Normally if you are using local ,then it will be not more then 50 Euro but again it's depend on person how much he is driving.

> How much do you pay for electricity/gas/water etc?

It's depend on house size.Normally electricity bill raise in Winter because of Center Heating and water bill not be more then 7 to 10 Euro.

> How much do you pay for your Internet/phone subscription?

It's depend on plan. Their are two main internet provider in prishtina and below are their link to refer

> How much do you pay for your lunch pack on weekdays?
It's depend what you are ordering but it will not go beyond 30 Euro (Approximate)

> How much do you pay for an espresso coffee?
small cup will be around 50 cent ( depend on coffee shop) and big cup will not be more than 1.50 Euro.

> How much do you pay for a cinema ticket?
Sorry,i have no idea about it.

> How much does a gym membership cost in Kosovo?

It's depend which gym is near to your house. In Prishtina ,their are many gyms ,some of them are local and some of them have their chain in all over kosovo like Fivestar and gym24/7 etc. Fivestar gym annual cost is 99 Euro and rest other you have to check.

I hope this information is useful for you.

Have a Nice day.
