I am future Shanghai expat. I am going to move by the 2nd week of November. My work location is in 1221 West Yanan Road 200050. Can anyone suggest please if where I can start searching? and what particular district or place? It would better a walking distance from my place.

it's in Changning district. a bit of walk from the metro line 4 West Yan An road station and line 2 Jiang Su Raod metro Station. I have offices to rent, but not houses. Find a agent they will help you find an apartment.

I am still not in Shanghai. I am possibly arriving on November. I am Ok with shared room but I am on tight budget so it is better 3 to 4 of us.

well.it is kind of late for me . i dont know if I should wait coz i really need someone to share the rent but there is still one month more to wait. same as u , very tight budget and i am now living in Blue Mountain Youth Hostel which is not suitable for working individuals.
anyway, can u make sure when u r gonna be in shanghai ? I may wait for u .lol
