Hi sara , there are lot of tourist places where you can enjoy and explore the Germany, two weeks before my 2 friends came from New Mexico and I made them visit for Germany and they really enjoyed. I would like to mention some of these, like
1. frankfurt city: old village, Main river, museum, Zeil (down town), shopping malls, Main tower (you can have a view of whole city from here), Skyscrapers, palmengarten, clubs etc.
2. Rhein valley from Mains to Koblenz, its amazing scenery and you will really enjoy specially if u take a ferry.
3. Berlin: berlin wall and lots of tourist places
4. Bavaria state which include Munich, nuremberg,  wurzburg where you can find lot of castles and natural beauty.
5. Hamburg
