I know this is a long shot, but is there anywhere in Erbil where you can buy wool/yarn (natural fibres - not acrylic!)?

I am a keen knitter with a limited luggage allowance....

Very keen to know if you find natural yarns.  I am heading off to the Souk/Bazaar on saturday. I've been told wool is known as 'soof' (like woof) in arabic/kurdish.   I'm almost through what I did bring in... no wool or yarn shops in any of the shopping malls in Erbil.

If you are desparate contact me - if you trust a stranger you could get woof delivered to me and I will bring it over, unless you want kilogrammes of the stuff...

I have just returned from the bazaar opposite the Citadel where I managed to find two shops that sold wool. Unfortunately, everything they had was 100% acrylic imported from China.  I have heard of another shop that has an impressive collection of wool and yarn imported from Turkey and I plan to try and find this place on Saturday.  If I don't come right I may have to take up your offer Maraiq. Thank you. Life without yarn is not a happy one :(
