When you first arrive in Kristiansand, or Norway, you will notice how clean the fresh air is - but also how quiet it is. In Norway, people like outdoor activities
I think all town centres will put up some christmas decorations up around Christmas - the Christmas market in Lubeck and Hamburg in Germany are supose to be quite nice.
