Hi Everyone,

I have recently moved from Berkshire, UK here to Sandton, Johannesburg and am looking to grow both my social and work networks.

Socially I am into Touch Rugby, Scuba Diving, Baseball, Formula1 and socialising.

From a business perspective I work as a Financial Advisor for the largest Independent Financial Consultancy Group in the world specialising with professional expats and internationally minded individuals from all over the world.

I specialise in advising anyone who is interested in offshore virtually tax free growth investments, offshore savings plans, education funds, retirement planning and portfolio/asset management. Oe of the main things I can help British Expats with is a pension transfer from the UK to HRMC approved QROP, saving massive amounts in tax and freeing up a pension you might otherwise have wasting away earning next to no interest in the UK until you retire.

I hope to hear back from you regarding the financial services I can offer or any of the social things I am looking to get involved with here in the Jo’burg area

If I can be of any use in your business dealings then feel free to contact me in return.

Thanks
Damon

Hi Damon and welcome to Joburg. It's a big change from the UK but never once regretted it. Lots to do but unlike CT and Dbn we don't have the sea and you need transport. Dbn is too humid and the CT winter is horrible -cold, windy and wet. It takes a while to find your way around but plenty of rugby clubs - phone Old Eds I prefer Pirates in Greenside has a great club/pub with lots of other activities like the wine club.

Suggest you join a few clubs like Extreme Adventures, Pirates and a dive club and you will soon fit in. My dive club - Wild About Diving has a nice social group of all ages and organises trips just about every month to the coast. Diving in Sodwana, Mozambique or Aliwal is some of the best diving in the world.
