Post-Covid-19 situation in Panama

Hello everyone,

The COVID-19 pandemic had a huge impact on the world, including on expats' lives. Travel restrictions, business closures, budget cuts, and health measures have created unprecedented challenges for those who have chosen to live in Panama.

Now that the pandemic is moderated, expats are adjusting to a new daily routine. So tell us, how is your expat life now:

Are there still any health measures in place in Panama? If so, what are they (wearing a mask, barrier measures, etc.)?

Have you noticed any changes in the population's habits or behavior after the pandemic?

What is your new work rhythm: do you still work remotely or are you spending more time in the office?

Have you changed your spending habits? If so, which ones?

Despite this pandemic and its consequences, how do you see your future in Panama?

Do you have any advice for other expats and future expats on this new daily life in Panama?

Thank you for your contribution.

As an expat living in panama going  on 26yrs have had challenges at certain times covid being one

of them. Remember it being so bad that they had 1day for men and another day for women

only to doing shopping and pay bills. Now less and less people are not wearing masks.

Supposedly the virus is a lot less but it still exists. I am a very cautious person, do not hang

around crowds, don't go to parties and use mask still sometimes, depends upon the

situation. Take vitamins and other supplements and that is why my immune system is

high. Me and my wife have not been vaccinated for the virus and are free from it.

Best advice is stay healthly, do something to always have your immune system high

and enjoy life in Panama as we have, going on over 26yrs. Everyone enjoy your day.

@Mickael Life has returned to normal. David is busy and active, and businesses are open without restrictions. Occasionally you see someone with a mask but generally not. Hugs and kisses with greetings have mostly returned. We're retired so work isn't a thing.

It was a crazy time and Panama really tried their best to take care of people, but thank goodness it is in the past.
