We come from the Lyon region and are looking for a quiet place to spend our retirement years and Bulgaria seems to be perfect for our project! We spent our vacation this summer in Bulgaria (we went around via Bansko, Plovdiv, Burgas, Varna, Véliko Tarnovo and return to Sofia) to see the different landscapes and we loved the diversity of landscapes that this country offers! We have just returned for a week to look more actively for a small pied-à-terre (apartment or house) but we were not able to visit many properties because many properties were already sold or it was not possible to visit them (It is true that because of covid we did not know if we were going to be able to leave until the last moment so the visits were requested at the last moment)... We also realized that the agencies were not necessarily very reliable in their description of the environment. properties and we would like to have the opinion of people living there which will surely be more reliable than the opinion of agencies! We would also like to exchange with people who have also chosen Bulgaria to spend their retirement years because it is always enriching to be able to share their experiences. Apparently from what I have read while browsing the forum people do not regret their choice which is rather encouraging and deserves further investigation!
