Our client, the largest commercial grower and exporter of chilies from Kenya and also one of the leading exporters of premium & prepared vegetables from Kenya, produces Kenya's finest fresh Vegetables, Herbs, Fruits, Salads and Roses all grown on their own farms. They supply top Retailers, Caterers, Processors, Wholesalers and Florists around the world. They export roses to the Netherlands, Great Britain, Germany, the Middle East and other markets.
The company owns 4 separate farms across Central Kenya at differing attitudes, and have over 400 Ha of land under open field cultivation, and has 100 Ha of cut flowers and Summer flowers under cover.
With audited and certified facilities and a powerful distribution network, our client guarantees a consistent supply of the finest and freshest fruits and vegetables, straight from the field to your table.
The role of Commercial Manager Roses is a key function within the organization with overarching responsibility for sales and marketing as well as ensuring the smooth functioning of the business at farm management level, including cost analysis, predictions, and finance. Product development oversight, new market opportunity identification, customer satisfaction and marketing operations management also fall within this role.
Remuneration: USD6000 housing and a car

Skills
Industry Knowledge
• Horticulture / Floriculture expertise – especially in rose varieties
Commercial & Business Acumen
• Sales strategy development – managing domestic and export markets.
• Profit & loss (P&L) management
• Pricing strategy, margin management, Market analysis and forecasting.
Supply Chain & Logistics
• Knowledge of cold chain logistics and export/import regulations
Customer Relationship Management
Marketing & Branding
• Experience with brand positioning, especially for premium rose varieties.
Leadership & People Management
Data Analysis & Reporting
• Proficiency in tools like Excel, ERP systems, and CRM platforms
• Ability to interpret sales data, KPIs, and provide actionable insights.
Compliance & Certification Knowledge
Bonus Skills:
• Multilingual (especially English any regional or export market language e.g., Dutch, German, French).
• Previous experience with international trade, especially to Europe, Middle East, or Asia.
Diplomas
Bachelor’s degree in one of the following:
Business Administration, Commerce, or Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture,
A Master’s degree (e.g., MBA, MSc in Agribusiness or Horticulture) is an added advantage.
