Crime in Malta

Seems that Malta are trying to sort this out too:)

It's really sad , the number 12 is always so crowded , it does not surprise me there is pickpockets , I think people when they come on holiday seem to forget that they need to be vigilant , etc which is how these opportunist get lucky .. Sadly that thread on trip advisor has just been taken over by trolls who will blame one group it people  without being sure

There is pickpockets on the buses that leave Valletta.
Normally around early evening time 4.30pm onwards.
Have seen lots of one nationality working as a gang on the buses.
Always carry your wallet in front pocket and phone..

Very good advice MC and thank you. We have been in Malta twice now staying in Sliema and although always watching we have not really come across anyone who mentioned it all.

Linda (my wife) is on two crutches and we only caught a bus once.

They never stop at the kerb (most cannot) and this is quite hard for getting on and off but more importantly soon became crowed (Vallatte/Sliema) and someone did give up his seat for her, I was getting more concerned on whether she could get off safely and it was at that time too that I became more aware of what I thought was a 'gang' as they worked themselves through and up & down the bus.

Linda had her bag (with all normal stuff) with her and it would not take long for someone to take it off her. (we are both new and learning about disabilities and our new environment that we live in) !!

We will be in Malta in 2 weeks time for 6 months and will have to be more alert but that said UK/Worldwide it is very bad (Here in Manchester or London etc) !!

Fagan's everywhere still....We should all be vigilant and look after each other but sometimes complacency can set in and get's you off guard. 

If you see a couple and the lady is on two crutches and they both have front pouches and the guy has a backpack (to carry everything) then stop and say Hi LOL ))))
