Brilliant ex pat relocation

Good afternoon. I’m looking for any advice that anyone would like to add.

im fortunate enough to be able to purchase a 2nd property and I’m drawn to scicily. The weather, the people and the food.

I’ve visited a couple of times. I’ve visited Catania ( too big I’d be lost) ortiga ( beautiful but quiet out of tourist season) Ragusa,Modica and sicili( too inland) and the marina de Ragusa ( expensive) my budget in 100000€.  I was looking Noto?? But I’ve been recommended to visit castellemere de golfo? I’d like to be walking distance from the sea. I’d like a town that has little tourism but doesn’t die when the season ends. I’d like a small enough community that I could eventually try and join.

anyway, thanks for reading and I appreciate any information that can be given.

thanks in advance. Dean😊

Please be careful if you decide to hire one of those “consultants “, I had a bad experience and was able to end the relationship even from the US before paying the consultant or signing the preliminary contract to buy because it was not up to par.

Your best bet is a real estate law firm like DeTullio who are bilingual or a reputable real estate agency some have videos on YouTube and are licensed by the state. Those consultants have no license and they may or may not work with reputable real estate agencies, that does not mean they are all bad some do work with reputable agencies.

Some agencies work in different locations and have offices in Sicily also. BTW, I decided not to buy long distance. I use IDEALISTA.IT which has listings everywhere some by private owners and some by listing real estate companies. They have both rentals and for sale properties, look at properties on that site for the locations you might consider to get an idea.

Hello. Thank you for your time to read and reply. It is much appreciated. I take every advice on board. Thanks again. Dean😊

Scicli is actually nearer the sea than Noto is.  You could look at Avola - a working town very close to the sea.
