Pool maintenance costs for complex pool

makarelk

Hi, our house is part of a complex with a shared pool. I believe our maintenance company is charging too much for pool maintenance and is not doing a very good job. Does anyone know the current average pricing for this service. Understand it probably depends on the size of the pool but a rough ball park figure would us a bench mark to compare to our current contractor

If you're trying to figure out whether the pool-maintenance quote you’re getting is fair, the prices people pay in Cyprus line up pretty closely once you compare pool size and the number of visits per week.

For complex/shared pools, the usual range is:

€180–€220/month for a larger communal pool (around 16m x 6–7m) with 2× weekly in winter and 3× weekly in summer.

€80–€120/month for smaller pools with 1× weekly service.

Some places (especially Larnaca area) report €250/month, but that’s usually full service including all chemicals.

The important thing is knowing what’s included: skimming, brushing, vacuuming, chemical balancing, cleaning baskets, and filter backwashing. A proper service should cover all of that without random upcharges.

One thing worth mentioning:

If you’re comfortable doing a bit of the work yourself, AquaDoc has really clear guides on brushing, vacuuming, balancing pH/alkalinity, and dealing with cloudy or green water. A lot of people end up saving quite a bit because the actual weekly tasks aren’t complicated; it’s just consistency. For a private or smaller shared pool, DIY maintenance using AquaDoc’s steps can drop your costs to just the price of chemicals.

But for a big communal pool, paying a pro still makes sense because of the usage and chemical demand.

If you share your pool size and how many visits per week you’re being quoted for, folks here can tell you pretty quickly whether the price matches what others pay.
