Getting ready
Need to open the pool, touch up a few spots with paint and a little yard work and it will be ready for the market.
Goes on the market in two weeks. Will head to PR when it sells.

Yup, will rent for 6-12 months while I get my house build

Me too, I don't want to die of old age before I return back to PR.
Yea we will rent a house or apartment in PR while we deal with the location with in the lot, design, and construction of the house and pool, this way I am close to keep an eye on it and supervise the work so they don't screw it up too badly.

Will do, I do plan to keep an eye on things, but it will likely be several months before actual construction is started. I want to do a good marking of the plot so we have exact lines of the property, decide on the house design, the measurements, the location of the house within the plot, and will probably need to build the driveway first so trucks and other equipment can get up there. Then and only then can the construction of the house and pool can get started.
But first is sell the house so I have the money to cover most of the cost.
So the price per square feet of my property will be going down substantially and will compare very nicely in the market.
Soon we will be hearing the Coqui sing.
I will be making arrangements today and tomorrow for everything.
We are in the early stages of organizing a meet-up for members of the east for Sept 8th (Saturday). After that in October we will organize another meet up for the North side, somewhere around Dorado and Probably do the West side in November. Will target South coast for either December or January due to holidays and depending on member count in that area.
Trying to get the members to meet each other.
Wishing you and your wife all the best!😊

How does it feel to be back home?
Is it how you thought it would be?
In many ways is like I never left, locals want to talk my ear off and always inviting me for coffee as it was when I was growing up. The place where I am renting is a little community of about 8 homes on the street, about 1/2 are related to each other, so I am getting to know each of them. The rental is in the same street as my property but at the bottom of the hill instead of up in the mountain where my property is. This will let me keep an eye on the progress once construction begins (several months into the future)
My wife which speaks mainly English but knows some Spanish gets easily lost in the conversations since is rapid fire Spanish most of the time but the neighbors do try to speak some English to her and are very friendly.
Yesterday we went to get a new bedroom set and I explained to the lady that my wife spoke English and they switched to English and every so often they would ask me if they said it right since they are not used to English.
I am still getting used to being home and listening to Spanish all around me after so many years of nothing but English.
I am still getting infuriated with the people walking in the middle of the supermarket isle while they are on the phone or talking with their 5 other members of the family they brought to the supermarket with them and completely clueless that there are other people in the store.
But I am talking with people around the town and they tell me where I can find the different stores, the best eggs, the best pizza, etc in the town or the next town over.
For someone not used to the language and the local lingo, it would be much harder, but for me everyone opens up quickly and it is home.
