New Year
I am a Libyan citizen living in Tripoli,
I have been browsing the net and i came across few comments from expatriates regarding Libya that are not accurate about Libya or the Libyan people, i believe that this is generated from the fact that most expatriates have limited insight regarding the Libyan culture. My new year's resolution is to dedicate some of my time to giving honest opinion & advice to expatriates who are in need of it.
I have lived & studied abroad so I know how it feels to be in a country other than your homeland.
Believe me folks LIBYA is a wonderful country, people, & leadership.
Please feel free to exploit the Libyan hospitality (i.e. you can come to me for advice & culture understanding)
Regards

for u it might be something waw ... but for me its normal cause i've been in Libyan high school
this's the generation of people
Is it still normal or was it ever normal? How do the schools like in Libya now? Are they changing or still dealing with the same problems that are almost everywhere in Arab world, poor teaching methods, violence, everything has to memorized, country is far more important than knowlegde (but this actually often happen in "regular" jumhuriyas)...
Thank you Sweet Libya for this wonderful comment and positive attitude ..
Personally I overcame a lot of negative opinions and aggressive comments about my lovely country (Libya), and I am very proud to say that I belong here and that I have a Libyan nationality... the same happened to me , lived abroad for 80% percent of my life , most in European countries.. faced a lot of bad and good situations/people, but never remarked any bad comment about the counties I have been to...
My wish for the coming year is that most of our expat friends will adopt a more positive view of the country they are currently living in... especially that a lot of Libyans are reading their comments.. and they will act based on what they read ..
In every place there are Good and Bad people... In every country there are positive and negative points ...
Happy new year for all of you and best wishes..
We will be happy, marry and gay as the say. Just beautiful.
Nice comments, positive observations, shops, malls, sea-quays full of everykind of product you like. Roads without zahma, people obeying rules. Even offers will be prepared according to specifications.
All Libyans and non-Libyans united for a better future. As always and forever.
And as all countries have their negative points, in new year I will post not so positive observations about Libya on Polish forum. It should be quite obvious since I am Polish.
I want to thank you for letting us know your very nice and ambitious plans for the coming year and it will be treated the same way on the Libyan forums.. we love polish people who are NOT positive towards the country they are working and living in and getting paid for such nice remarks towards it.... Thank you again Polish Man

If you have to ask, you don't need to know!

Humor is like a bandaid. It can make your problems feel much better for awhile until it falls off or you run out of jokes.

In Libyan Jamahiriya, jokes run out of you!!!

I went to Tunisia once. Dysentery ran out of me.
A little bit of positive attitude will help guys, everybody is here for a reason; and if it wasn't for that reason none of us will be here, so it must be a good reason: be it love, money, family but we have a reason, and once this reason is no longer there im sure we all know what to do.

I sure do admire your attitude because I am the same way, except I have not been as much since I've been in Libya. But the things you say like there's good and bad everywhere and you have to just make the best out of whatever situation and then we move on to other experiences is how I normally think.
Thank you for helping me get my attitude and thoughts back on a better track.
And you didn't even let them get to you -- even more admirable.

Amazing what a week in Rome can do isn't it ?
Since I came here 5 years ago, and I have experienced such beautiful things about Libyans, most people deny, I just deal with people positively and with a smile, then what I get is a positive attitude and good well
Happy New Year expats, and happy New Year LIBYA
