Employment search

stu261981

Hi to you all,

I am currently seeking emplyment in Dubai as my partner has already secure a position in Dubai.

I am a project manager in facilities management and have completed two project totalling £1million.

I have searched through websites, phoned agencies in dubai and submitted my CV just about everywhere but I am getting no feedback.

Has anyone got sound advice that can help me in my quest to relocate to dubai by the end of january?

I am thinking that i should just quit work and go but I know that it is easier to find work when you are employed. Only problem is getting time off to go without quitting my current job.

Any one that can help me in my quest I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

these sites can be extremely frustrating since many employers \often cross-post between them. also, a human resources contact is not always listed, which is frustrating since there is no recourse to follow-up after submitting.

i have had zero success in being directly contacted by a potential employer from one of these sites and i think i market myself relatively well. i am also in the project management (IT) sector.

i have found the best results to be to target companies you want to work for. if they are large organisation then they probably have a section on their website that will list currently open vacancies. if you are really brave you can "warm call" these companies and pitch your skills in order to be shortlisted for future positions.

good luck to you. all the websites referenced are a good start but you will probably need to dig a bit deeper.

Hi there! I am also in the IT Industry, but not the technical stuff, I've been doing Marketing Stuff for almost 7 years now.

I'm currently working now in my home country the Philippines, and I am considering of working as an expatriate. Currently I'm already in the Department Head level. I just want to know if I apply for a position, most likely which level would employers consider me? Would it be the managerial/supervisor position or i could also be considered on the same level as to what i have right now?

I've been sending out my CV on countries like China, Singapore, UK, US and Australia. Any advice?

Thanks!

Hi There !!

In Dubai, you can ask your partner to search for any job consultants there and they can help you to get a job. It will be easy for your partner to search than you searching because he is in Dubai.

Hope it helps :)
