It seems a geek lot have taken all the crap out of windows, including forced updates, and released the code.
My greatest problems with windows is the updates, with bloatware and privacy next on the list, but this appears to get rid of the lot.
I realise the potential security risk but, as I don't use porn sites and other rubbish of that nature (or open dodgy emails), I'm pretty safe from that.

Anyone got any opinions, or should I just give it a blast and see what happens?

I wonder if you can update an installed version of Windows with this. Looks promising, I used to use stripped versions of XP back in the day.

I started with an easier option.

I downloaded the files onto an old laptop, ran Powershell, and took the plunge.
Boot up time has decreased by 12 seconds - Not much, but nice
Cortana is there, but disabled
It has not stopped updates
Edge is still on the laptop
It has freed up a little over 2gb of hard drive.

It's too early to comment much more as I've hardly used the machine - Watch this space
