Assistance needed finding job in Canada while in South Africa

Hi All

I'm a South African currently in the express entry pool under my husbands profile.  My husband has a criminology degree and has worked in financial investigation for the past 10 years at one of South Africas leading banks.  He has been applying for jobs on Canada and hasn't been receiving much feedback.  Is there anyone that is able to assist with how to improve on his application approach?
We have no friends or relatives in Canada and we have done all without an angency.  Your input would be appreciated.  We are extremely keen on moving.

Hello Shownees,

Welcome to the forum. You are in the express entry pool, that's a good news.
Don't take this bad experience personally. Usually, employers do not recruit people living abroad, unless they have a really specific profile.

One option may be to visit Canada during your holidays and try to meet with as many potential recruiters as you can.

Depending on your husband's profile, you may not need to get a job prior to your immigration. You may receive an invitation to apply for a permanent residence, even though you have not found a job. It depends on the number of points you get with your husband's profile.

Thank you so much.
We were discussing your suggestion just recently and I agree as I have heard the same from a few people.
The only obstacle to overcome is trying to find a location and accommodation central enough.
We pretty much did everything on our own nkt knowing anyone in Canada.
Do you have an recommendations regarding affordable accommodation?

Our EE profile is not looking great with only 400 points.  So finding work would certainly help it along.

I understand your point.
The notion of "central" is not relevant, to me.

The country is so big that you first have to decide in which city you want to live. You may determine this according to the chances you have to find a job. You may find interesting information on the Jobbank portal.

Could you please send me the link in the first place. I want to know the info about doctors in Canada, but couldn't figure it out where you got it.
Thanks a lot
