We have a year long lease in Gozo and are thinking of buying a used motorbike. I have seen on the web that in order to buy and insure a motor vehicle you require an e-residency card. Does anyone have any more information on this ? We are EU citizens and spend part of our time in Ireland also.

I guess it depends on the insurance what documents you have to present, but everywhere else also you have to provide a proof of residency in order to register and insure a vehicle. If you are not resident in Malta, you can ask another person to register the motorbike on his name and add a second driver to the insurance for a few Euros extra per year.
