Tentative offer in Vietnam

Hi,

Considering to move to Vietnam soon. Have good a tentative offer with a fairly decent wage (>USD4000). I heard from freinds that personal income tax is fairly high in Vietnam.

Could someone out there please help me with this question:
Q1; Say if I earn USD 4000, what would be by gross after tax deduction?

Q2: Could I live comfortably in HCMC with USD1300 a month?

Thanks to anyone out there who could give me answers to the questions. Thank you

Hi Nawin,
From what I know tax is around 30% here salaries quoted to expats are usually net.
1300 usd yep you can live comfortably on that, but a lot depends on what kind of lifestyle you want to live. Rent is the big kicker here for expats you can find rooms in houses for 200 to 4/5 bedrooms houses for 8k a month. And everything in between. You can get 2 bedrooms houses fro around 500 usd so don't let those figures put you off.
