Beware of accuracy of news in Taiwan

Some have said that professional journalists in Taiwan DO NOT exist as they are held to the minimum standards or none at all. Watch TV news to see proof that newscasting is mostly about filling airtime with superficial reports (lazy reporting) than doing any substantial work via investigation.
One TV station insider said that its reporter would go to the nearest source to snap a photo or video to complete assignments.
So-called TV reporters are seen asking childish questions perfunctorily to achieve nothing.
TV news is redundant in Taiwan and most stations rerun content one day to the next.

Also English news related to Taiwan reported in the various local media are TRANSLATED from Chinese sources, so are only as credible and reliable as the degree of professionalism (lol) of Taiwanese reporters.
Much of Chinese news are also rewritten from other online sources to undermine its accuracy.
In short, much of news in Taiwan are second-hand or worse.

Same all over the world.

You mean even on BBC, CNBC, CNN and DW? What about those BBC and CNN reporters who report on-site?

You mean the BBC that reported WTC 7 collapsing before it did, proven by the building still being visible behind the reporter, or the CNN live broadcasts from the first gulf war when they were still in a studio?

If you do, Yes.

That isn't anti western news agencies, but anti lies, the same thing you're complaining about.
As I said, they all do it.

But not nearly as bad as it is in Taiwan where journalism is superficial, lazy, shoe-string budgeted and done by amateurs. The global networks at least have extensive overseas reporting. But Taiwan only surfs the Net or pirates CNN for overseas news.
