Moving to Malaysia to Retire

Hello fellow Expats
I am in the process of moving to Malaysia and seeking advice as to the easiest and simplest way to remain in Malaysia without giving up Citizenship in the USA.  I know I have the option with the MM2H program but I'm afraid I will not qualify as the requirements are a bit higher my current financial status.  I am on a limited income from SS and will have my home here in the states and not sure that the value of my home above my mortgage would be considered as  enough to qualify.  I know there are some Expats who have made the move and wondered if any of you could advise me of some other options that I'm not finding on the internet.  If you have some ideas I would like to hear them.
