Hi, I posted on this forum some weeks ago. My husband has secured a job in Tripoli and he will be moving in October to start, I cannot join him initially during his probation period, which will be January 2011.
We are both UK Nationals. Lived overseas since 2008. A few questions if anyone can answer for me.
Which are the best areas to live? We are hoping to live in an area where we can meet people and socialise as we fully understand Tripoli has not got a great social life, bars etc.
Someone will ask what is your budget for your housing - this we did not know yet. We would be happy with a one/two bedroom apartment, pool if that is possible? I have been looking on the internet some of the villa's are enormous with 4 kitchens!
I would also like to get involved in a ladies social group can anyone point me in the right direction?

This way you will keep up with what is going on.
We live in a Villa in Janzour. This is one of the areas that expats live. Sergi is another. And I believe there are some more. I thought that all my neighbors would be expats, but that is not necessarily the case. We live among Libyans, so it's not easy just going somewhere and meeting.
So that's why I formed this group mainly for expat spouses who are staying home during the day and wanting to make friends.
I would be glad to try to answer any other question, if you have.

Majority of expats live 20 mins out of town in Saraj/Janzour. Expect to pay 2500-4000LYD/month for a house with a pool.
