Hi! Im sheine. I am a Filipino. Im an expat preschool teacher here in Indonesia but am considering moving to Istanbul this month after my contract ends. Does anyone here have a clue if kindergarten teacher jobs are in demand in Istanbul? I am aware most schools  are looking for native-speakers (same situation here in Jakarta) but I am hoping some Filipino teachers were able to find a preschool or primary teaching job there as well. Thanks guys. :)

As a turkish generally talking its not easy to find job in istanbul for an expat because you will of course need work permit but also you should be able to speak some basic turkish.even for the daily life except universities people are not familiar wt english. Now there are some companies for expats to hunt job but usually if you planning to stay a year or sth i qould sugfest you english teaching jobs if you are native or close to native.

Hello everyone,

I am new in this forum. I am from Philippines and I've been living here in Turkey for 1 year now. I am currently living at Kastamonu City but planning to move to Antalya this year, and for that reason I am searching for a teaching job in Antalya preferably English or Computer. I have 1 year experience on teaching english to different level (childrens and adult).I have my TESOL certificate and I was a Computer Instructor too in my country.

I would appreciate a lot if anyone could help me on my job hunting in Antalya. By the way I just acquire my Kimlik last week so there is no problem with the work permit as I am now a Turkish citizen.

Thanks  :)

I don't know what to write in here. could someone help me please

Hi there,

I am new in Istanbul and from Indonesia.  I speak bahasa Indonesia, English and know a little bit Spanish.   I move in here because my husband job.  We have a daughter. I would like to make friends and know about this place.

Thanks

I tried to respond to your queries on the 'Pakistanis in Istanbul' forum. You might want to check it out.

For the questions posted here,

I can recommend Sirkeci (pronounced Sirkechi) for finding hotels. If you look around, the average rate that you can find for a reasonably good room can be as low as $50/night (breakfast inclusive).
Sirkeci is very close to SultanAhmet. You will find yourself at the walking distance from Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque and Tokapi Palace amongst other places.
A metro passes through Sirkeci and within a few minutes you will also find yourself in Taksim, where you can go for shopping or enjoy the nightlife.

For skiing, Uludag is good option.
You may also want to check Lake Abant in Bolu, at an hour or two's drive from Istanbul. It is surrounded by mountains and you can enjoy their lake fish cooked with cheese! I can't recall the name of the dish.

You should be able to find a SIM at the airport.

If there's any further questions, please feel free to ask.
