Why do i like India?

What is it about India? Much of it is crowded, polluted, poverty stricken; it gets so hot you worry your brain will melt; you can never get the right advice, directions or change; you have to watch every thing you put in your mouth, even making sure it's closed tight in the shower; the train is late, the car breaks down, the driver doesn't listen; your white clothes come back from the laundry grey; you see the same shawl for half the price, half an hour later; the thin, naked child turning somersaults at the corner breaks your heart; and the sight of an old woman carrying a basket of bricks on her head in the heat of the day fills you with stifled anguish.

And yet … The spices the sheer variety of them…cloves(laung),saunf, dalchini(cinnamon),black pepper(kali mirch),tez patta Curry leaves, nutmeg, turmeric, chillies, cardamom, ginger. When you dive into the streets and bazaars and let uncensored life swirl around you in every color, shade and gradation known to man. When you allow the humanity of an open hand to touch your heart. When you experience the famous “hospitality of the east,” captured by the phrase Atithi Devo Bhava (Guest is God),This is the land where so many beautiful souls were born…some like Buddha,Krishna ,Kabir,Mahatma Gandhi……..take a moment to pause and take a deep breath they walked on the very same land..maybe even where you are walking today?:) when you allow India in, she may never leave.

And you may not want to leave either.

Hi cousin
very well written. its intresting to see how difrrent we all are in the way we see india. and really each one has his own india.
India is very extrim place. it has all the most amazing wonderful sights, people, atmosphere and so on in the worls and same time it has all the worst things one can think of.
most of all i love the slow rhythm it astill has and makes me feel like i am in a megical time tunnel.thats why i love it so much. and when u r in love, u feel so not just becouse all what  it has but also in spite of it.

Hatemdarwish, Thanks for writing a beautiful article.

Thanks for responses

Yea you couldn't descibe India any better,I simply love India although I didn't go to Hyderabad, but been to Mumbai,Delhi,Chennai,Goa,Bangalore and a few other places.Well my roots are in India so I'll never want to stop visiting magical India.

Hi Hatermdarwish, Nice written, being motherland I respect India apart from all mess up in the country and its peoples, where billions of peoples still could not earn 1 time eatable food but if you see the temple's (peoples says its god's home)  are getting rich and richest even, but still blind peoples say they Love India, its such a shame on our social system and wrong direction of belief. Its really funny, nothing else :p .

I really dont understand you. u think there are'nt any problems else where??
there is alot to love in india. i already wrote at my earlier post that it has all the good and all the bad in the world.
we see all the problems,no one here is blind, but india has a special megic. if one loves india, even the most difficult situation will not change it.
one can be critical and still love it.

The Indian Constitution has outlawed caste-based discrimination, keeping with the socialist, secular, democratic principles ,there is no caste system anymore. its just some stereotypical thing ,they probably still have this tradition in the small villages.
