Hi
I have been offered a job in Kampala but am stuck trying to find out how to get our belongings to Uganda from the Philippines. Is it better for me to ship from here, or to the UK and them to Uganda? I am on a rather tight budget but am prepared to ship the minimum.

The shippers will be able to tell you all that, won't they? Depending on where you come from, you can get things here, if your expectations aren't very high. It's definitely not high class, but you can get by. We were able to get office furniture, a printer, curtains made, etc. etc. Also there are many furnished places you can get here so you may not need to bring much. Good luck.

like many have advised,I think it would be more cost effective for you to buy most of the things from down here. not so high quality, but there's quite a variety at affordable prices. then you can trade everything off when time comes for you to leave hence being able to recoup some of the much you spent.
