English teacher with a possible legal issue

Here's the story:

My partner and I work for a small English teaching company, which is really nice for the most part, but it's too chaotic and the schedule is quite difficult to deal with. Recently we've been given 7-day-a-week schedules, tending toward both late-night and early-morning classes. This is driving us crazy, and we're considering quitting our jobs.

We are full-timers with a contract for one year, and it says that if we choose not to complete the full year, our company will pursue legal action against us. What are we at risk of? Can our company legitimately sue us? If they can't legitimately sue us, can they still try and saddle us with costly legal fees? We haven't committed to quitting yet: we like our students and the other teachers, and we don't have a bad relationship with the administration. However, we are having a terrible time living in Istanbul and it's entirely because of our schedules.

Hi there Roctavian,

May be it would be wiser to "miss" some morning classes with the excuse that you already had been very late last night. They then should either reschedule your classes or sign you off you which apparently would be the desired freedom.
