Would a copy of a birth certificate (From sri-Lanka) be sufficient for marriage in Sri-Lanka. If not how can one obtain an original birth certificate. My original birth certificate was retained by the Ceylon Planters Association and a copy was issued to me when I withdrew my provident fund on emigrating. Thanks for any insights.

I don't know what you mean by a "copy of the birth certificate".If it's a photo copy,it's of no use.You must get a certified copy of your birth certificate from the relevant "divisional secretariat office".If you were born in the Colombo district,you'd better go to the "Maha Lekam Karyalaya"in Maligawathe.
